Lights of Tejas!

We decided to take Sophia to the Lights of Tejas last Sunday. Due to the weather getting cooler, Hayden stayed at my parents. She had a blast with her friends Evan and Bo! The lights were beautiful!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Sophia and I have been busy decorating. It always seems to be a race against time as we are usually trying to get things done before Hayden figures out how to undo our hard work.

Merry Christmas...and so Christmas 2012 begins...

I LOVE Christmas! I always have. It's just something special about this time of year.

Children make Christmas magical though. This year Sophia has really been excited about all of the things that Christmas brings. She loves telling Hayden about Santa and his elves, about Jesus and his mommy and daddy (mary and joseph) and singing him the songs shes learning.

Both kids did awesome at the downtown Christmas Stroll...Sophia rode on her school float and Hayden watched! And amazingly both had smiles during our trip to take Santa pictures! Yay!

Where have we been?

Just a few pictures from the last few weeks!

Happy 4th Birthday!

Happy 4th Birthday to the girl that teaches me something everyday! She's energetic, loving, adventurous, but always finds time to make us smile. God gave us a beautiful gift four years ago and every night I thank him for her.

Happy Birthday, Sophia! We love you more and more each day!

First Day of School!

With our pending move to the Houston area, we were excited to be able to have Sophia start her "3's" preschool class in Brenham at First Baptist. I am so happy to report there was not one tear on her first day. Hayden continued in his same level 2 Nursery class. Both kids seem to love it!

My "other" kiddos

I recently had some awesome opportunities to watch our best friend's children, Dawson and Hailey.  We had so much fun. I love them like my own and my children love having them around as well!

6 months...a little late

A few dates short of Hayden's 7 month "birthday," I decided I may want to attempt to begin to "catch up" our blog. At 6 months, Hayden weighed 18 pounds 12 ounces.  He was in the 65th percentile for weight and the 60th percentile for height.  The doctors are very pleased with his growth.

His reflux has improved some.  However, it has interfered somewhat with his ability to eat baby food.  For the longest, as soon as you would get any amount of solid food in his mouth, he would spit it back up.  After persistent attempts, trying a few tricks, and lots of great help from his "teachers' at First Baptist, he is doing much better!

He continues to be a very happy baby.  He is beginning to become a little more mobile...Yikes! Sitting up has been mastered and he is able to move himself across the room either by rolling over and/or scooting....and no....I am not ready for a completely mobile baby but I know crawling is next on his list!

His sister adores him and is (for the most part) a big helper! She has learned how to make him giggle/smile and runs around the house telling me, "Hayden only wants to smile for me because I am his big sister and he thinks I am funny!"

It's hard to believe our baby is growing up so quickly! He has been such a great blessing and I know he will continue to amaze us with his growth and we will continue to shower him with lots of love.

Cousins = playmates for life!

This weekend the kids spent a lot of time playing with their cousin, Callen. They had SO much fun at Grandpa and BonBon's!
 Hayden (almost 7 months)
 Callen (almost 6 months)
 Two of the sweetest boys
 Buddies
And the protective big sister/big cousin!

Happy 4th!

Round Top Parade...great friends and family.

(Hayden did not make the parade this year. He spent his morning relaxing with BonBon out of the hot sun.)
